Roof & chimney scaffolding

Working platforms for roof replacement, leadwork, chimney repairs, repointing and high level maintenance. Access is arranged around the roofline and the workface.

Housing associations. Local authorities. Contractors.

Scaffolding that works around people.

Occupied homes and live sites need more than access to the building. They need clear communication, considerate planning and a team that understands how programmes can change.

Our work includes housing association and local authority projects. We support planned repairs, roofing, external decoration, refurbishment and property maintenance, with practical arrangements for residents, trades and site teams.

  • Occupied homes: shared entrances, communal routes, deliveries and the people using the property.
  • Phased programmes: erection, alterations, return visits and dismantling coordinated with the work.
  • Contractor support: scope, site standards, onboarding documents and agreed reporting arrangements.

A dependable part of your team

One property or a whole programme. Let's talk.

We welcome tender enquiries from Tier 1, principal and main contractors, alongside surveyors, property managers and independent builders. Send your requirements, programme and site information so we can review the scope together.

You can expect a personal conversation, a practical approach and clear communication as your project develops. Meet BlackFox

A complete access range

Every site has
its own challenges.

Independent scaffolding, towers, temporary roofs, internal access and specialist arrangements each solve a different problem.

Working height, ground conditions, loading, access routes and the people around the site inform the choice. Explore the arrangements, then talk to us about your particular work.

Independent scaffolding, towers and mobile access

General scaffold access for elevations, repairs, maintenance, roofline work, short-duration tasks and contractor work platforms. The range includes independent scaffolding, tower scaffolding, mobile access towers, ladder access scaffolding, access stair towers and restricted-access scaffolding.

Roof, chimney and weather-protection scaffolds

Scaffold access for roofers, chimney works, roof repairs, exposed buildings and weather-sensitive programmes. Explore temporary roof scaffolding and weather protection, chimney scaffolding, roof access scaffolding, handrail systems and edge protection.

Edge protection, loading and stair access

Access systems for protecting edges and moving people or materials through the scaffold. These include edge protection, loading bays, HAKI staircases, access stair towers and handrail systems.

Birdcage, stairwell, lift shaft and atrium scaffolds

Internal scaffold arrangements for ceilings, atriums, halls, stair voids, lift shafts and confined internal working areas. Read about birdcage scaffolding, stairwell scaffolding and lift shaft scaffolding, alongside internal, atrium and confined-space access.

Cantilever, beam work, bridging and hanging scaffolds

Specialist scaffold arrangements for restricted-ground, obstruction-led, suspended, bridging or support-sensitive access situations. These include cantilever scaffolding, beam work scaffolding, bridging scaffolding, hanging scaffolding, suspended scaffolding and temporary works scaffolding, subject to the appropriate design route.

Shoring, propping and façade retention

Temporary support scaffold arrangements for walls, openings, façades, adjacent areas and controlled works. Raking shores, flying shores, dead shores, façade retention scaffolding, propping and temporary works require clearly defined support and design responsibilities for the project.

Gantry and pavement scaffolding

Scaffold access for shopfronts, footpaths, managed premises, public-facing elevations and frontage works. Gantry scaffolding, pavement scaffolding, loading bays, handrail systems and edge protection are planned around public routes and the relevant permissions.

Marine, industrial and restricted-access scaffolds

Scaffold access for exposed environments, warehouses, industrial premises, marine works, awkward workfaces and restricted access routes. Marine scaffolding, industrial access scaffolding, confined-space scaffolding, restricted-access scaffolding, internal and suspended arrangements are assessed for the individual setting.

Clear communication. From start to finish.

From first enquiry
to final dismantle.

Knowing what happens next helps everyone plan. We agree the scope, site arrangements and responsibilities with you, then stay in touch as the work progresses.

  1. Share the brief and survey needs

Send the full site address, photographs or drawings, the work being carried out and target dates. Identify access restrictions so a survey can be arranged where needed.

  2. Agree the scope and design route

Confirm working heights, platform use, loading, access, protection and hire requirements. Establish the site-specific design input and permissions needed before work starts.

  3. Plan delivery and erection

Agree unloading space, delivery timing, site contacts and the erection sequence. Highlight occupied areas, entrances and other trades.

  4. Confirm handover and inspections

Make the scaffold’s intended use clear, together with who will arrange inspections and keep the records. Read our health and safety information.

  5. Arrange changes as work progresses

Tell BlackFox when the sequence or access requirement changes. Agree alterations through the scaffold team before components are moved or removed.

  6. Agree dismantling and collection

Confirm that the trades have finished using the scaffold, then coordinate removal with the site contact, access restrictions and collection arrangements.
